White Caps ...

On Lake Koocanusa
Aug. 31, 2011

Rough Waters ...

It started out to be a nice, calm day ...
to go fishing ...
other than a little overcast ...
(it was probably our last day to go for this year ... as the Kokanees are getting ready to spawn)
the weather changed while we were out on the lake ...
but we continued to fish anyway ...
then the rain came ...
thanks goodness we had the canopy up ...
we also turned the boat around so we didn't get rained on ...
and we continued to fish ...
the choppy waves ...
turned into large rolling waves ...
didn't stop us ...
those fish were still hungry ...
so we continued to fish ...
after a couple of hours ... and having caught our limit  ...
we headed back to the dock ...
to take the boat out of the water ... and get the covers put on ...
just in time before the thunderstorm was upon us ...
a torrential downpour ...
we were safe and dry in the truck ...
on our way home ...
we pretty well had the lake all to ourselves ...
other than one other boat determined to have a fishing day ... !

It was still worth going on this adventure ...
